EYES RIGHT JONES Tetraploid (Mildred Mitchell X Lavender Arrowhead) Mid season, Ev. Re. 6 1/2 ", 29 inch scapes with 3 way branching, 16 buds. These showy blooms have a base color of medium peach with a large dark plum (violet/purple) eye and an ornate double edge of dark plum and gold with a yellow to green throat. The wide petals are slightly pinched and recurved. Easy pod setter if plant is left undisturbed for a year. While parts of the double edge usually measure at approximately 1/2 inch, I have measured some at 3/4 inch. NOTE: During the 2006 bloom season I noted in my garden that EYES RIGHT JONES showed 32 inch scapes, 3 and 4 way branching, with 24 buds on established clumps. A hardy evergreen that grows well in both the north and the south.
This daylily is very special to me and has been named in memory of my Dad and was given his military nick-name. There is a link above to the EYES RIGHT JONES story.
